General Questions

Is the air fry basket nonstick?

Yes. The basket has a nonstick ceramic coating.

What materials are the air fry basket, crisper plate, and air fryer's exterior made of?

The basket and crisper plate are made of aluminum with a nonstick ceramic coating. The air fryer's exterior is BPA-free and uses FDA-approved food-safe plastic.

Where is the power button located?

The power button is located on the bottom right side of the air fryer.

Where is the exhaust vent located on the air fryer?

The exhaust vent is located on the back side of the air fryer. This area will heat up during cooking. Be sure to keep the air fryer at least 5 inches away from any other surfaces.

How many cooking functions are included with the air fryer?

The air fryer has 7 different cooking functions: Max Crisp, Air Broil, Air Fry, Dehydrate, Air Roast, Bake, and Reheat (Max Crisp and Air Broil not included in all models).

How do I read the time setting?

The display shows in HH:MM (hours, minutes).

How do I convert conventional oven temperatures to the Air Fryer Max XL?

Reduce the cooking temperature by 25˚F.

Why can't I change the temperature for Max Crisp?

450˚F is the default temperature for Max Crisp.

Why is the air fryer beeping?

The beeping means the cooking time is complete.

Why won't the temperature go any higher?

The maximum temperature for Max Crisp and Broil is 450˚F. The maximum temperature for all other functions is 400˚F.

 

Cleaning

How do I clean the air fryer?

To clean the main air fryer and the control panel, wipe them clean with a damp cloth. The air fry basket, crisper plate, and any other accessories can be washed in the dishwasher. If food residue is stuck on the basket or crisper plate, place them in a sink filled with warm, soapy water and allow them to soak. Thoroughly air-dry or towel- dry all parts after cleaning. We recommend cleaning the light cover with a damp cloth to improve the brightness

How often should the air fryer, air fry basket, and crisper plate be cleaned?

The air fryer, basket, and crisper plate should be thoroughly cleaned after every use. Before cleaning, unplug the air fryer from the wall outlet. To clean the main air fryer and control panel, wipe them with a damp cloth. The basket and crisper plate are both dishwasher safe. If there is food residue stuck on the basket or crisper plate, place them in a sink filled with warm, soapy water and allow them to soak. Use a soft sponge to help remove any remaining residue. Thoroughly air-dry or towel-dry all parts after cleaning.

Why is the window stained after washing the basket?

Sometimes grease buildup can affect the view even after washing. We recommend letting the basket soak overnight in warm, soapy water to help break down some of the grease.

Why do I see water trapped inside the window after washing?

Water can condense behind the window when washing. Air dry the basket after washing and over time the condensate will evaporate away.

 

Cooking Questions

What is the temperature range of the air fryer?

The temperature ranges from 105°F (for Dehydrate) to 450°F (for Max Crisp and Broil).

What are the timer increments?

The timer increments vary depending on the function:
• Air Fry: 1-minute increments up to 1 hour
• Roast: 1-minute increments for the first hour, followed by 5-minute increments for the next 3 hours
• Dehydrate: 15-minute increments up to 12 hours
• Reheat: 1-minute increments up to 1 hour
• Bake: 1-minute increments for the first 30 minutes, followed by 5-minute increments for the next 3 1/2 hours
• Max Crisp (not included on all models): 1-minute increments up to 30 minutes
Air Broil (not included on all models): 1-minute increments up to 30 minutes

Can I use parchment paper or aluminum foil in the air fry basket?

Yes. It is safe to use parchment paper and aluminum foil in the basket. The use of aluminum foil is suggested in some recipes.

How do I know if the air fryer is on?

When the air fryer is powered on, the digital display will show 0:00.

Do I need to preheat the air fryer?

For best results, we recommend that you preheat the air fryer for 3 minutes before adding ingredients. To preheat, simply add an additional 3 minutes to your total cooking time and allow the air fryer to come up to temperature before adding ingredients.

Will the outside of the air fryer get hot?

Although the outside of the air fryer will heat up during the cooking process, the control panel and air fry basket handle will remain safe to touch.

Do I have to shake the air fry basket while cooking?

Yes. It is important to shake or rotate your food for consistent browning and crispiness. For best results, follow the recipe or cooking chart to find out how often you should shake or rotate ingredients while cooking.

Do I need to use oil when air frying?

Although oil is not required, we recommend starting with one tablespoon and adjusting for personal preference, or referencing the recipe for recommended oil amounts.

Can I pull out the air fry basket to check on food during cooking?

Yes. We recommend checking on your food regularly throughout the cooking process. Simply pull out the basket and shake or rotate the food. The timer will pause automatically and the heater and fan will shut off when the basket is removed. When you are done, slide the basket back into place. The timer will start and the air fryer will automatically resume cooking.

Does the air fryer pause when I pull out the air fry basket?

Yes. When you pull the basket out of the air fryer, cooking will automatically pause. Once the basket is back in the air fryer, cooking will resume.

What is Max Crisp?

Max Crisp Technology provides hotter, faster, and crispier results for all your favorite prepackaged frozen foods*. Max Crisp cooks at 450°F. For best results, reduce cook times and shake food often.

Can I adjust the cook time once the air fryer is running?

Yes. You can adjust the cooking time at any point during cooking by using the up and down TIME arrows.

Should I add the ingredients before or after preheating?

For best results, let the air fryer preheat for 3 minutes before adding ingredients.

When should I use Max Crisp instead of Air Crisp?

For best results, use Max Crisp when cooking prepackaged frozen foods, such as French fries or chicken nuggets.

Do I need to defrost frozen foods before air frying them?

It depends on the food. Follow package instructions.

How do I pause the countdown timer?

The countdown timer will pause automatically when you remove the air fry basket from the air fryer. Pressing START/STOP during cooking will stop the cooking function.

Is it safe to put the air fry basket on my countertop?

Place the basket on heat-safe surfaces only and use caution when handling as the basket will get hot during cooking.

When should I use the crisper plate?

Use the crisper plate when you want food to come out crispy. The plate elevates the food in the air fry basket so air can flow under it for even cooking and crisping.

Can I adjust the cook time and/or temperature once the air fryer is running?

Yes. you can adjust the cook time or temperature at any point throughout the cooking process by using the up and down TIME and/or TEMP arrows.

Can I air fry wet battered ingredients?

Yes, but use the proper breading technique. It is important to coat foods first with flour, then with egg, and then with bread crumbs. Be sure to press the bread crumbs onto the food with your hands. Because the air fryer has a powerful fan as part of its mechanism, breading can sometimes be blown off. Pressing the bread crumbs firmly on them will help them adhere.

Why is my food burning on Max Crisp?

Max Crisp cooks your food faster than traditional air crisping, so make sure you check on your food and shake it often to prevent burning.

Why won't the temperature go any higher?

The maximum temperature setting is 400˚F.

Why is my food blowing around when air frying?

Occasionally, the fan from the air fryer will blow lightweight foods around. To alleviate this, secure foods (like the top slice of bread on a sandwich) with toothpicks.
