Cleaning/Maintenance

How do I clean my pans?

Pans can be hand-washed or cleaned in the dishwasher once cooled.

CLEANING & CARE

Allow cookware to cool completely before washing. Never immerse a hot pan in cold water, as this may lead to irreparable warping. Always clean cookware thoroughly after use, as grease buildup over time can lead to food sticking. If you notice grease or discoloring on the stainless steel handles or stainless steel induction base, clean thoroughly with baking soda and whitevinegar, then wipe with a sponge or soft cloth.

DISHWASHER

Use automatic dishwashing detergent without bleach or citrus additives. Prolonged, regular dishwashing may eventually mark or discolor your cookware. If regularly washed in the dishwasher, some darkening of the exterior of the base may occur- this is normal and will not affect cooking performance.

HAND-WASHING

Use mild liquid dish soap. Abrasive pads and sponges should only be used if they are approved for use on nonstick cookware. DO NOT use abrasive cleansers or cleaning pads not rated for nonstick cookware, as they can damage cookware.

How can I safely remove sticky and/or burnt on debris from my pan?

Wait until your pan cools and soak it in warm water, use a non-abrasive sponge or towel to remove any debris.

How can I clean my stainless steel handles or induction base?

If you notice grease or discoloring on the stainless steel handles or stainless steel induction base, clean thoroughly with baking soda and white vinegar, then wipe with a sponge or soft cloth.

Cooking

Is it safe to use my pan in the oven?

Yes, all Ninja Foodi NeverStick Cookware and lids are oven-safe up to 500F. Easily go from stovetop to oven to finish cooking meats, brown toppings, or bake like you can in cast iron.

Is it safe to deep-fry in my pan?

Yes.

Is it safe to use my pan under a broiler?

Yes, all Ninja Foodi NeverStick Cookware and lids oven safe up to 500F. Easily go from stovetop to oven to finish cooking meats, brown toppings, or bake like you can in cast iron. If using under the broiler, make sure your temperature is no higher than 500F and that there is space between the pan and the top of the oven.

Can I use cooking spray in my pans?

Never use aerosol cooking sprays. These burn at low temperatures and will leave a residue that leads to sticking.

What temperature should I use when cooking?

Use high heat for boiling liquids and searing. Never leave an empty pan on high for more than 2 or 3 minutes as this can damage the pan and lead to sticking.

  • Use medium-high heat for sauteing, frying, and stir-frying.
  • Use medium heat for reducing liquids and making pancakes, sandwiches, and omelets.
  • Use low heat to warm foods, simmer ingredients, or prepare delicate sauces.
Why is there a popping/crackling sound coming from the lid when cooking?

Two things can happen that can cause this noise:

  1. Moisture can get trapped between the glass and the stainless steel rim around the glass and cause a popping/racking/hissing sound. This is normal and will not affect cooking performance.
  2. As the lid heats up and the glass and stainless steel start to expand slightly rubbing can occur from the thermal expansion and create a noise. There is no need for concern.
Why does food sometimes stick to my pans?

Overheating your pans can lead to food burning and sticking or if you use an abrasive cleaning tool that could damage the cooking surface, it can cause food to stick.

Preparing to Use

What type of cooking surface will my pan work on?

Your Ninja Foodi NeverStick cookware is all-range capable: gas, electric, glass ceramic, and induction.

Do I need to season my pans?

No, your NeverStick coating does not need to be seasoned.

Should I pre-heat my cookware and when do I know that it's ready for cooking?

We recommend pre-heating your pan for 1-2 minutes at the same temperature that you intend to use when cooking. DO NOT use a hotter temperature to heat your pan than intended for cooking.

To determine if your pan is ready for use, simply add a few drops of water. If you hear a sizzle, the pan is ready for use. If not, continue preheating.

Storage

What is the best way to store my pans?

We recommend storing your pans in a single layer if possible. If you need to stack your pans, place a sheet of paper towel or towel in-between each pan to reduce the chances of coating damage.

Other

Is it safe to use Ninja Foodi NeverStick around pet birds?

Due to the delicate respiratory systems of aviary pets, we suggest that they are not kept in the kitchen as there are harmful concerns from burned foods, smoke, and cleaning solvents. Even burning butter can release fumes into the air that can be detrimental to birds.

At temperatures above 500F, nonstick coatings may begin to decompose and give off fumes. Tips to avoid overheating a pan include not leaving an empty pan on the burner for longer than a few minutes and cooking at or below medium-high heat.

What types of utensils can I use in my pans?

All utensils are safe for use including metal. Metal utensils including spatulas, spoons, whisks, and tongs are safe for use with your Ninja Foodi NeverStick cookware. Never use sharp instruments such as knives or forks or appliances such as electric mixers to cut, chop, or whip foods in any nonstick pan. Such use will damage the nonstick finish and void the warranty.

Why are the outsides of my pans discolored?

If cooking on a gas range, do not allow the flame to rise along the outside of the pan, as this may lead to discoloration.

Do the handles get hot?

Our long handles on the frying pan and sauté pan are designed to be comfortable to hold and designed to stay cool when used on the stovetop. However, the short side handles on the stock pot and longer cooking times can lead to the handles getting warm, and all handles will be hot when used in the oven.
