This article contains the FAQs for the SS100 Series Ninja® Foodi® Power Nutri™ Duo®. This supports the following product SKUs SS100, SS101, SS101C, SS101Q, SS101QS and SS101TGT.

Are all pieces dishwasher safe?

All pieces (apart from the base) are top-rack dishwasher safe.

Can I use the smoothie function only with the Power Nutri Cup or can I use it with the Power Nutri Bowl?

For the best output, we recommend you use Smoothie (SS100, SS101, SS101C, SS101TGT) or Extract (SS101/SS101C/SS101TGT) with the Power Nutri Cup. Use Bowl (SS100, SS101, SS101C, SS101TGT), Spread (SS101 /SS101C), or Sauce (SS101TGT) with the Power Nutri Bowl.

Can the solid contents be over the Max Fill line if they are below the line after blending?

For best blending results, DO NOT fill contents above the Max Fill line. Adding ingredients past the Max Fill lines on the Power Nutri Cup and Power Nutri Bowl will make it hard to install the blade assembly.

How do I clean the Power Nutri Bowl when dealing with stuck- on ingredients?
  1. Rinse the bowl and blade assembly under WARM WATER immediately after processing.
  2. Fill the bowl with warm water up to the top of the paddle and add 1 or 2 SMALL DROPS of dish soap.
  3. Screw on the blade assembly and install onto motor base.
  4. Press BOWL and twist the Power Paddle counterclockwise continuously while cleaning.
  5. Once complete, empty contents and rinse under warm water.

NOTE: The Power Paddle in the Power Nutri Bowl is not removable.

How do I know if the blade assembly is screwed on properly?

Make sure the blade assembly is fully threaded, meaning there are no gaps between the blade assembly and the lip of the cup/bowl. There is not an audible click.

How do I stop an active program?

Press START/STOP or the currently active Auto-iQ program.

The lid or Hybrid Blades Assembly are hard to install on the container.

Set the container on a level surface. Carefully place the lid or blade assembly on top of the container and align the threads so the lid/blade assembly sits flat. Twist clockwise until it is tightly sealed. Be sure the cup or bowl isn't overfilled. If it is, remove some of the ingredients so the blades can fit in the cup or bowl.

What does it mean to "amplify" my smoothie bowl base by adding yogurt, powders, or protein powders?

Add yogurt, powders, etc. to add additional flavorings to your smoothie bowls.

What happens if I don't twist the Power Paddle continuously when using the Power Nutri Bowl?

For best blending results using the Power Nutri Bowl, twist the Power Paddle counterclockwise continuously during blending. Twisting the Power Paddle will help circulate ingredients and bring them toward the blades. This will provide thicker and smoother outputs

What's the difference between a smoothie vs. smoothie bowl? Which iQ program should I use with each vessel?

Smoothie bowls are thicker and spoonable, compared to smoothies which are thinner and drinkable.

  • Drinkables: Smoothie (iQ program) + Cup. Extract program is on select models.
  • Spoonables: Bowl (iQ Program) + Power Nutri Bowl. Sauce and Spread programs on select models.
  • Examples of spoonable recipes are hummus, pesto, and nut butters (thick outputs).
  • Examples of drinkable recipes are smoothies, protein drinks, and green drinks.
When do I use START/STOP?

Press once to start continuous running up to 60 seconds; press again to stop. Can also be pressed to stop a running Auto-iQ program.

Why can't I remove the Power Paddle from the Power Nutri Bowl to better clean the parts?

The Power Paddle in the Power Nutri Bowl is not removable. Remove some ingredients so the blades can fit into the cup or bowl. For cleaning instructions, refer to the Care & Maintenance section.

Why does my unit move on the counter while blending?

Make sure the counter and feet of the unit are clean and dry.

Why is my unit not mixing well? Food is getting stuck to the sides.

Using the Auto-iQ programs is the easiest way to achieve great results. The pulses and pauses allow the ingredients to settle toward the blade assembly. If ingredients are routinely getting stuck, adding some liquid will usually help. When filling the cup, start with fresh fruit or veggies, then leafy greens or herbs. Next add liquids or yogurt, then seeds, powders, or nut butters. Finally, add ice or frozen ingredients. If using the Power Nutri Bowl, twist the Power Paddle counterclockwise continuously during blending to circulate ingredients.

Why is the control panel not illuminated?

Make sure unit is plugged in. If the unit is powered on and no container is installed, the unit will display '- -'. The available programs will illuminate after a container is placed on the base and is properly rotated

Why isn't the control panel turning off?

Remove container from base by rotating it counterclockwise and lifting it up. The display will flash '- -'. Unplug the power cord from the outlet. If the unit remains plugged in, the display will time out after 3 minutes of inactivity. Press any button to wake the unit.

Yield is lost due to Power Paddle

Use a rubber spatula or similar utensil to remove blended ingredients. Do not use metal utensils to remove. Turn Power Paddle a quarter of the way and remove blended ingredients at each turn until all are removed.
