Product Questions

How do I open the door?

To open the door, use the designated handle on the right side of the unit. Pull the door outward to open. You will hear a click upon opening.

How do I change different modes on the Ninja Combi(tm)?

Close the door, toggle the SmartSwitch above the display to switch between modes, and use the center arrows to select the desired function.

When the SmartSwitch Air Fry/Stove Top Mode, you can use Slow Cook and Sous Vide with the door open. You can use Sear/Saute ONLY with the door open.

Can I open the door during the cook function?

You can open the door during the cooking function. During a steam function, be mindful that steam built up in the unit will release through the door. Be careful not to position your face or hands too close to the cavity when opening the door.

Is it normal to see excess condensation when I open the door?

Yes, this is normal due to the condensation building within the unit. Condensation will flow from the door into the condensation catch. Use a cloth or paper towel to wipe the condensation catch after each use.

Will the outside of the Ninja Combi™ get hot?

The outside of the unit and the stainless steel surface on the lid will get hot during cooking, but the control panel, exterior handles, and handles on the lid will remain safe to touch at any time during cooking.

Why is my Ninja Combi™so loud?

Due to the Ninja Combi's unique 2-in-1 design, the fan-related functions may take on a slightly different pitch. This is normal for the unit and is not an indication of any product malfunction. 

Can I put the unit on my stove?

No, the unit cannot be used on a stove. Do not place your unit on the stove during use or for storage. 

Why is my unit tripping a circuit breaker?

This unit will draw nearly 15 amps at full power. If your unit is plugged into an outlet on a 10 amp breaker, it will trip the breaker. If your unit is plugged into an outlet in a 15 or 20-amp circuit breaker along with other items/appliances in use, it may trip the breaker. Try using a different outlet in the same or different room. Otherwise, contact a licensed electrician for assistance. 

Is this unit safe to use around birds?

Yes, the unit utilizes a nano-ceramic coating that is PFOA and PFTE-free.

What are the different modes and cooking functions?

Ninja Combi™ allows you to seamlessly transition between Combi and airfrying modes. With the SmartSwitch, you can choose between Combi Cook and Air Fry/Stovetop. 

When on Combi Cook Mode, the following functions are available:

  • Combi Meals
  • Combi Crisp
  • Combi Bake
  • Steam
  • Proof (SFP701 ONLY)
  • When on Air Fry/Stovetop mode, the following functions are available:
  • Air Fry
  • Bake
  • Broil

What do the different cooking functions do?
  • Combi Meals: Cook your mains and sides at the same time using infused steam and cyclonic air.
  • Combi Crisp: Evenly cook, brown, and crisp ingredients without drying them out.
  • Combi Bake: Promote even rise when baking while retaining moisture and fluffy texture.
  • Steam: Gently cook delicate foods at high temps to lock in flavor and nutrients.
  • Proof (SFP701 ONLY): Create an environment for the dough to rest and rise.
  • Air Fry: Gives food crispiness and crunch with little to no oil.
  • Bake: Prepare baked treats, oven-tender meats, and more using dry heat only.
  • Broil: Cook at high heat to caramelize and brown food.
  • Pizza: Cook perfect pizza at the push of a button.
  • Toast: Make perfect shades of toast directly in the Combi Pan.
  • Sear/Sauté: Brown meats, saute veggies, and simmer sauces.
  • Slow Cook: Cook food at a lower temperature for a longer period of time.
  • Sous Vide: Cook slowly in a warm water bath. 
How do I start a cooking function?

To select a cooking function, you must have your unit plugged in and turned on. Use the center arrows to select your desired cook function. Use the right and left arrows to set time and temp, then press START STOP to begin cooking. 

Do I have to let the Ninja Combi™ preheat before I use the Air Fry function?

When using Air Fry or Bake functions, be sure to add an additional 5 minutes to your total cook time to allow for preheating. Add ingredients after the first 5 minutes. 

How do I cancel a cooking function?

Press the START STOP button or Power button at any time during cooking to cancel a cooking function.

Why is the time counting down so slowly?

You may have set hours rather than minutes. When setting the time, the display will show HH:MM, and the time will increase/decrease in minute increments when there is still more than 1 hour of time remaining in the cook cycle. 

The Ninja Combi™ is counting up rather than down.

When in the Sear/Saute mode, the unit will count up rather than down to indicate how long you've been at the current heat setting for. 

There is a lot of steam coming from the Ninja Combi™ during Combi Cook Functions.

It’s normal for steam to release through the units vents, especially on Combi Cook functions or when air frying foods with a high water content. 

How much water should I add when cooking?

Ensure there is at least 1/2 cup of water in the Combi Pan to allow the unit to build steam for Combi Cook functions. Refer to the cooking charts. 

Why does my Ninja Combi™ feel cold during Proof function - SFP701 ONLY?

The Proof function creates an environment for the dough to rest and rise. It is normal for the unit to feel cold while using this function. 

Can I use aluminum foil and parchment paper with the Ninja Combi?

Yes. It is safe to use parchment paper and aluminum foil in the Combi Pan and on the Bake Tray. The use of aluminum foil is suggested in some recipes.

Can I use glass bakeware in the unit?

Yes. It is safe to use 'oven safe' glass bakeware in the Ninja Ninja Combi™. 

What should I do if there's too much liquid leftover when I'm done cooking my main?

If your base needs more time, switch to SEAR/SAUTE and continue to cook with the door open until liquid is absorbed. 

Can I use different non-Combi accessories with the Ninja Combi™?

No, only use the included Crisper Tray, Bake Tray, and Combi Pan for cooking. When using the bake function, you can use a standard baking accessory in the Ninja Combi™.

Are the accessories nonstick?

The Combi Pan and Crisper Tray are made of aluminum with a nonstick nano ceramic coating that is FDA-approved and food safe. This coating is also PTFE and PFOA-free.

The Bake Tray has an enamel coating and is not non-stick.

Can I use the Combi Pan on my stove?

No, the Combi Pan cannot be used on the stove. This unique pot is designed only for use in the Ninja Combi™. 


 

Display Message Questions

Can I put my Combi Pan in the oven?

No, the Combi Pan cannot be used in the oven. This unique pot is designed only for use in the Ninja Combi™.

Why does the display show "ADD POT"?

This means the Combi Pan is not installed in the cooker base. The Combi Pan must be properly installed for all functions except for Bake and Pizza.

Why does the display show errors "SHUT DOOR", "ADD WATER"?

"SHUT DOOR" - The door is open and needs to be closed for the selected function to start. 

“ADD WATER” - The water level is too low. Add more water to the unit for the function to continue.

What should come in my box?

Within your box, you should find the base unit, Combi Pan, Bake Tray, Crisper Tray, manual, recipe book, and quick start guide. The Combi Pan and Crisper Tray will come preinstalled in your unit.

The unit weights about 20 pounds.

What are the dimensions of the unit?

How do I clean the Ninja Combi™ and its accessories?

Follow these steps to clean the unit thoroughly after every use:

  1. Unplug the unit from the wall outlet before cleaning.
  2. To clean the cooker base and control panel, wipe them with a damp cloth. NEVER put the cooker base in the dishwasher or immerse it in water or any other liquid.
  3. ALWAYS allow the unit to completely cool down before cleaning. Wipe it down with a wet cloth or paper towel. If using mild cleaners, ALWAYS wipe down after with a wet cloth or paper towel.
  4. The Combi Pan, Bake Tray, and Crisper Tray can be washed in the dishwasher. DO NOT place the main unit in the dishwasher or immerse it in liquid.
  5. If food residue is stuck on the cooking pot or crisper tray, fill the sink with warm, soapy water and allow to soak before cleaning. DO NOT use scouring pads. If scrubbing is necessary, use a non‐abrasive cleanser or liquid dish soap with a nylon pad or brush.
  6. Thoroughly air‐dry all parts after washing.
  7. To clean the heating element and the inside of the cavity, use the steam cleaning instructions below. 

STEAM CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Fill the Combi Pan with 3 cups of water.
  2. Move SmartSwitch to Combi Cooker.
  3. Select STEAM, and set the time to 10 minutes. Press START/STOP.
  4. When the time reaches 0 and the unit has cooled down, use a wet cloth or sponge to wipe down the interior the unit.  CAUTION: When cleaning the interior of the unit, do not touch the fan.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 as needed, and spot clean as necessary.
